Heart & Soul

Taking mortal lovers and having children with them seems to be a common theme with Order members. The infusion of new blood aside, there is something attractive about these very vital, short lived people that calls to the Order members. The relationships are many and varied.

Lovers: This is just what it sounds like. Dalliance, sex, passing the time, making life more pleasant.

Heart: This is a bit more serious. As close to a commitment without marriage as a member of the Order can get. Usually this feels like they share a soul, or the person is home to them, rather than the House Johannsen.

Soul: The members of the Order have immortal souls, but because of their talents being unbalanced toward their duties they may be missing something. A mortal of the opposite sex might have the missing element. It is part of the sexual magic that energy and traits can be exchanged, thereby making the member of the Order a stronger swan knight. The transferred trait could be good for only one shot -- meaning that a tryst prior to a specific battle or meeting gives them the advantage. It can be something that needs to be given periodically. When this happens the tryst can be kept up and renewed as often as needed or time permits. The member of the Order may offer a boon to the mortal for this special help. This is considered a debt of honor and in the culture of the Order does not constitute as 'cheating' but rather as a ritual sacred to the Lady and necessary for the member of the Order.
