learns them very quickly and recalls things easily.






Side Trait #1 (3d6):  Teacher
Her skill as a teacher includes patience, humour and a convivial
relationship with her students.	




Side Trait #2 (3d6): Analytical Mind
She can size up a situation and the odds very well.  This was very 
good for her when she was a bookie in school  Socially it means she 
is always polite and can size up a social situation and her place in it,
even if it is to leave people alone for a few minutes.





Disadvantage/Flaw:  Romantically Inept
She cannot handle doing two things at once, one being her duties at
Hogwarts and the other being anything other than friendships. 
Romantic relationships diminish her coping skills drastically and add

Character Bio
(Please include House or School affiliation, occupation, parents' names 
and whether they were muggle or wizarding folk, and personal story.):

I am a descendant of Vaina the Bright (492 B.C.E. to 352 B.C.E.), who
was renowned for his song magic. Our family has passed this down the
generations to me, the last of my line.

My father (Wayland Welkins) and mother(Helga Ethelrad Welkins), both
wizard and witch, worked for the ministry of magic in minor offices. Both
were sought out by the Dark Lord as converts, but refused to join him. 
He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named tried a cruciatus curse on them, but my father 
stopped it with one of his magic songs. My mother began to sing a song to 
turn You-Know-Who's wrath, and it would have worked had she finished the
song. However, he summoned his strength and the Dark Lord silenced her with
the Avada Kedavra curse, then turned it on my father. I heard all of this from
our neighbors as I was away visiting a pen friend in Finland. I stayed out of the
country during You-Know-Who's reign, partially out of fear, but also because
I was in an isolated area of Europe and I was hoping to master the vocal magic
and discover, if I could, any remnants of the more powerful magic songs that 
were known in that region and study them.


I returned to my home via Germany and France, continuing my research into 
vocal magic all along the way. While researching in England, Dumbledore
diminished the Dark Lord and I used my singing, or rather, storytelling, 
in a mundane way -- to entertain. 

But now I see the signs all pointing toward a resurgence of 
He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and wish to help defeat him and arm the 
wizards and witches with the most and best magic for their protection
and survival.
