Novels
Welcome to my bookshelf. It's a little empty, but I hope to change that quite soon. I have one completed manuscript and several works in progress. I have only listed two at this moment, but will add more as I have time.
You'll notice a picture of a collage next to the blurb for Otherworld. No, I don't miss summer camp arts and crafts. I use the collage as a tool to help free my creative mind up for writing. My attempts to write and revise without making a collage based on the story are much slower and definitely not as productive. I am going to go back to my other works and make collages for each project. I will add the pictures of those collages when I have them finished.
Spellbinder
Complete
Britta
Pennick dreams of a quiet potions apprenticeship and
forgetting the escapades of her late rocker mother.
Yet Bodhi, a charming troublemaker with a knack for
upsetting her plans, seems to show up everywhere she
turns. Still, maybe there is such a thing as too
much quiet . . .
Bodhi Unreal thinks his parents mad for believing magic will
make him a super hero. Singing and living the rock and roll
lifestyle will. So, he must get expelled. A pity leaving would
mean no more Britta, a sexy armful he'd rather not be without.
When assigned a scroll mapping the whereabouts of a legendary
magical harp, Bodhi enlists Britta's help in stealing it for
his own. Now, if only he could steal Britta's heart . . .
Kahrliko Kallekaster, prisoner in the dream world for 900
years, wants the magic harp stolen. The thief's body would
have strength for his powerful dream magic. He'll curse them
and slip into their corpse. But, when two apprentice wizards
steal the harp, Kallekaster is shocked to see the lovely face
of the woman who imprisoned him. His plans change, vowing
to win her or destroy her.
Britta's dreams of the harp turn to waking obsession. Research
leads to a spellbinder, a magic book that pulls her in to
experience the story as it happened. Britta finds herself
living history, involved in a curse, and falling in love with
Bodhi--even as the curse ebbs away his very life.
Otherworld
(working title)
Mari
has had the worst day of her life. Climbing her favorite
tree to sort it all out, she finds herself climbing
into another world. Unsure where she is, an annoying-yet-cute
guy tells her she's in Otherworld and that, to go home,
she must find an elusive Gate which will open for her
because her necklace is the Key. But as she seeks the
Gate, she discovers that the Sky Council ruling Otherworld
controls the distribution of the stuff of life throughout
the universe--and they very well might decide to stop
the supply of Life Stuff to all humans on Earth for
their selfishness. Determined to warn people on Earth,
Mari enlists the guy's help in reaching her goal.
Rand, a champion of men's liberation in female ruled
Otherworld, is determined to become a member of Otherworld's
Sky Council at all costs. To become worthy of that honor,
he must successfully pass through the Gate. To open
the Gate he needs a Key. But the Key belongs to a strange
woman from Earth who brings out the worst in him, and
he isn't sure whether they want to kill each other or
kiss each other.
As they race toward the Gate, Mari and Rand can't deny
the love blossoming between them, even as they learn
an inconvenient truth: the Gate will only open to the
Key once every decade. Only one will attain their goal.
